This rustic 19th-century manor house is set within peaceful gardens in the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park. Quinta Das Murtas features an outdoor pool, a hot tub and free Wi-Fi in public areas. The spacious guest rooms are decorated in the authentic style of a Portuguese villa with neutral décor. All rooms feature a private bathroom, and some have views overlooking the UNESCO heritage town of Sintra. Breakfast at Hotel Quinta Das Murtas features a selection of meats, breads, cheeses and fruit, and is served in the hotel’s dining room. There are also plenty of cafés and restaurants in Sintra, which is a 5-minute walk from the hotel. The Quinta’s gardens are a tranquil haven full of tropical birds and plants, as well as the outdoor pool and sun terrace. There is excellent hiking nearby, including the 2 km walk to Pena Palace, the oldest palace to have been inspired by European Romanticism.
